Historical Note:	The Northeastern University (NU) Office of University Photography (OUP) is responsible for the public image of NU as represented in photographs and videos. OUP provides photographic support and expertise to NU's marketing, news, and public relations publications.
Scope and Content Note:	The collection consists of negatives and contacts sheets taken by the Northeastern University (NU) Office of University Photography (OUP) between 1961 and 2000, with the bulk of images from 1981 to 1999. The images document a wide array of activities at Northeastern University, including university events, the physical plant, selected academic and research activities, selected faculty and staff, and student life. OUP staff provided all of the narrative and numerical description for each photo shoot. Researchers should be aware that images relating to NU were also taken by an independent contractor, Jet Commercial Photographers (A59 and A60).
