| Scope and Content Note: | This collection documents the founding of the Office of Institutional Advancement, its initial supervision of the Vice Presidents for Development, Alumni Relations, and Corporate Partnerships, and the office's collaboration with different areas of the University. The collection contains Leadership Campaign and Century Fund material and meeting minutes, reports, and agendas. This collection also contains materials on fundraising activities, donors, donor recruitment, and donations, including materials from the Huntington Society which honors donors. Of interest are promotional materials relating to Northeastern's #1 ranking by U.S. News and World Report in their list of schools that combine classroom experience with real-world work experience. The collection also includes campaign videos and videos pertaining to University-wide events, such as the inauguration of President Aoun. The collection is divided into two series: 1. Historical Note |

| In 2001, the office of University Development and the Office of Alumni Relations merged under the name Office of Institutional Advancement. The position of Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement was created to supervise and foster cooperation among the vice presidents for Development, Alumni Relations, and Corporate Partnerships. The Office of Institutional Advancement is responsible for overseeing the staff, budget, and operations of all alumni, corporate, and development activities and was responsible for directing Northeastern University's $200 million Leadership Campaign until its completion in 2006. In 2007, the Office of Institutional Advancement was renamed the Office of University Advancement. | |||||||||
