| Scope and Content Note: | This collection contains lecture notes and six course notebooks. Each notebook consists of hand–written lecture notes that pertain to different subjects in law. The course and lecture notes are divided by topic, which include personal property, trusts, business associations, wills, property rights, equity, constitutional law and evidence; one additional book on property rights was omitted from the collection by the donor. Numerous case studies, legal definitions, and lecture analyses are included in each notebook. The course books reflect the quality and style of Northeastern law education during the 1930s. |
| Biographical Note: | Wilbert A. Bishop, Jr. was born on May 27, 1906. He was raised in Lynn, Massachusetts and graduated from the Northeastern University School of Law in 1933. He later resided in Hinesville, Georgia, where he practiced law. Bishop died in September 1973 at age 67. |
