Scope and Content Abstract:The papers of Harold R. Raemer consist of 2 cubic feet of material spanning the years 1960-1999. The collection is comprised of lectures and publications. The lectures are video recordings of a lecture series given by Raemer for courses he taught from 1989-1990. For the TSR303: Advanced Radar Principles lecture series, session 1 and session 5 videocassettes are missing, and session 4 is missing for the TSR304: Radar Special Topics series. Publications consist of Raemer's research papers and technical reports for research projects with organizations like Sylvania Applied Research Laboratory.
Biographical Abstract:Harold R. Raemer, a professor of electrical engineering, was born on April 26, 1924. He received a B.S. in physics, an M.S. in mathematics, and, in 1959, a PhD in physics from Northwestern University. From 1952 to 1963, Raemer worked in industrial laboratories as a research engineer. In 1963, he came to Northeastern University as an associate professor of electrical engineering, and was appointed professor in 1966. Raemer was chair of the Electrical Engineering Department from 1966-1977, and he served as acting chair from 1982-1984. He became technical director for RF Phenomena and Systems in Northeastern University's Center for Electromagnetics Research in 1985. Raemer retired in 1994, but he continued to be an active member of the Center's research staff. He wrote two books: Radar Systems Principles in 1969 and Statistical Communication Theory and Applications in 1997. Raemer passed away on January 20, 2007.
