Locating articles and other research information

  • Find articles
    • Use Article Databases to find articles on a given topic. (MyNeu login required)
    • Use Subject Guides for suggestions about where to begin your article searching.
  • Find encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, reports, polling data
  • Find a specific electronic journal or newspaper
  • Special-order articles NOT available at Snell Library
    • Use NExpress or Illiad (Note: registration required)
    • The library will notify you via your NU email when your .pdf article is available for download.

Locating Books

The NU Libraries do not deliver books, videos or audiorecordings to distance users at this time. If you live far from campus, use WorldCat to find a local library that owns the materials you need. Your public library can also provide interlibrary delivery services to you. You may also borrow in person from BLC and Nexpress our partner libraries

  • To search print and ebooks available at NU Libraries, use NuCat. Most ebooks are listed in NuCat, including Safari tech books online, Early English Books Online, and netLibrary books.
  • To search reference resources like statistics, polling data, encyclopedias and handbooks, go to the online reference shelf or search NuCat
  • To learn which libraries near you have a particular book (or journal, dvd, etc.) check WorldCat.
  • To borrow in person from a library near you, these BLC and Nexpress libraries have reciprocal arrangements with the NU Libraries that allow you borrowing privileges.
